Farmstand Closed for Remainder of August

Our farmstand will be closed for the month of August while we take some time to regroup, recover, and begin rebuilding after the significant storm damage our farm experienced in late July.

💛 For Those Who Have Asked How They Can Help…

Since sharing the loss of our dahlia crop, we have received an incredible outpouring of kindness from our gardening and flower-growing community. So many of you have reached out with words of encouragement, offers to help, and incredibly generous offers of tubers from your own collections to help us rebuild ours.

We are so, so grateful.

My friend Melissa Slotnick thoughtfully created a GoFundMe for Guiding Green Thumbs as another way for those who have asked how they can support us as we recover and move forward.

One thing I wanted to explain is that the impact of losing our dahlias extends beyond replacing the tubers themselves. Many of the approximately 2,000 dahlias we planted this year were being grown not only for flowers, but as future stock for our annual late-winter tuber sale.

That sale has become an important part of our farm and provides critical early-season income. Without this year's crop to dig, divide, store, and sell, we will also lose much of the income that those plants would have generated next year.

The GoFundMe will help us rebuild some of the dahlia stock we've spent years growing, recover from the damage, and help offset some of that future lost income.

There is absolutely no expectation to contribute. I simply wanted to share this for those who have reached out asking if there is a way to help. Donating, offering tubers, sharing the fundraiser, sending an encouraging message, or simply continuing to support our farm in the seasons ahead all mean more to us than you know.

We have some rebuilding to do, but Guiding Green Thumbs will keep growing. 🌸
